Story
During the Great War between the Burning Continent and the Land of Nature, Finde - the Lord of Fire commanded his army to eradicate a village in Nature, burning all that stood in his way. Before completing his conquest, Finde noticed a teenage girl who survived the onslaught. With her mother’s limp and bloody body in her arm, the little girl set her gaze upon him, a gaze filled with the purest hatred and thirst for blood. The child’s eyes sent shivers down Finde’s spine. Nonetheless, thinking that the girl is essentially harmless, Finde left her up to the soldiers’ disposal and left the village.
Ultimately, Finde was defeated in the Great War and must retreat back to the Iron City. Words about Finde’s failure spread far and wide as his godly image in the eye of the City’s began to crumble. Finde held them a promise, a promise to bring the civilised flame of the Burning Continent and revolutionised the archaic Land of Nature. Little did they know, his methods and ways of “revolution” were of unspeakable evil. Finde, being his sly self, deceived his people by framing and executing those who could speak a single word of truth. To further appease the people of Iron City, he invented the Game of Blood - where slaves are imprisoned in a tower and to escape, they must eliminate all opponents. With this gruesome game, Finde was able to pacify and entertain his citizens.
Years later, the Game of Blood reached its’ 74th season. The season was filled with suspense as the people began to take note of an assassin who single handedly took out 123 opponents without a single scratch. His name was Faber. Hearing of Faber’s reputation, Finde took it upon himself to personally appear and congratulate the winner. But, what Finde found was far worse. Entering the arena, Finde found a familiar gaze, the gaze of pure, unfiltered hatred; the gaze of the young girl who sent him into sleepless evenings with nightmares.
Finde immediately commanded the execution of Faber, only to realise that she already had the support of Finde’s citizens in her grasp. Thus, the only thing he could do was to temporarily imprison her until the next Game of Blood. But before he could act, Faber took her step down the podium and declared Finde’s monstrous deeds in front of the people of Iron City, sending the crowd into unrest. Taking her exit off the podium, Faber whispered into Finde’s ear: “Even Death itself cannot escape from my sight”.
Angered, Finde tried to eliminate Faber by sending in increasingly deadly opponents, including vicious beasts yet no opponents could escape from Faber’s skilled and efficient blows, all were lethally killed. Faber’s reputation slowly began to override that of the Fire Lord, infuriating him even further. Now with the knowledge of Faber’s deeds, a multitude of chaotic riots broke out, sending Faber into absolute madness. When the final round of the Game of Blood came, Finde secretly poisoned Faber’s drink to weaken her and sent in a top-ranking assassin to neutralise her. Sluggish from the poison and worn out from defeating other opponents, Faber battled the assassin in great difficulty. Eventually, she was able to defeat him but incurred severe injuries in the process. With her last burst of energy, Faber hurled her knife towards Finde, slicing a part of his face open.
Her hands lifted as she signed “I’ll always have my eyes on you”. With one last cynical smile, Faber collapsed onto the unforgivingly cold ground of the Burning Continent.
